Shut Down Operating System Software, and turn
off CPU Power Switch.
|

|
|
2.
|
Disconnect Power Cord from AC Wall Outlet then
from rear panel of CPU Case.
|
|
|
|
3.
|
Remove existing cables from rear panel of CPU
Case such as cables for the keyboard, mouse, network, serial,
parallel, video, sound, speakers, etc.
|
|
|
|
|
4.
|
Remove CPU Case Cover; four coarse thread screws
_", and blow dust out of inside of CPU case, at your convenience.
|
|
|
|
|
5.
|
Install included WriteBack Floppy Disk Drive
into second floppy disk slot in CPU Case; four fine thread screws
??
|
|
|
|
|
6.
|
Remove existing Internal Floppy Disk Cable noting
Pin 1 (red side of ribbon cable) orientation in all connectors.
|
|
|
|
|
7.
|
Install included WriteBack Floppy Disk Cable
noting pin one (red side of ribbon cable) orientation between
motherboard connector and mating connectors on existing Internal
Floppy Disk Drive and WriteBack Floppy Disk Drive.
|
|
|
|
|
8.
|
Install included WriteBack Enclosure in top,
5 _" slot of CPU Case with WriteBack Switches to the right as
you face the front of CPU Case; four fine thread screw _" with
washers as required for a secure fit.
|
|
|
|
|
9.
|
Choose an open ISA or PCI slot on the motherboard
to be used by included WriteBack Controller Card. Orient WriteBack
Controller Card with the components facing you and the wired
connectors at the top. If you plan to use an ISA slot then remove
the left metal tab from WriteBack Controller Card. If you plan
to use a PCI slot then remove the right metal tab from WriteBack
Controller Card. If CPU Case has an existing tab then remove
it first before installing WriteBack Controller Card.

Install included WriteBack Controller Card into
the selected slot. Secure WriteBack Controller Card Tab; one
coarse thread hex-head screw ??".

|
|
|
11.
|
Plug 10-pin ribbon cable connector on included
Floppy Disk Cable into 10-pin connector on WriteBack Controller
Card noting Pin 1 orientation.
|
|
|
|
|
12.
|
Plug included Blue/White Reset Cable onto one
pair of pins labeled "System Reset Cables" on WriteBack Controller
Card. Plug other end of this Blue/White cable onto the pair
of pins on motherboard in place of existing Reset Switch Cable
attached to the CPU Case. Plug Reset Switch Cable attached to
the CPU Case into second pair of pins labeled "System Reset
Cables" on WriteBack Controller Card.

Plug existing Internal Power Supply Cable into
connector on WriteBack Controller Card.
|
|
|
|

|
Plug included System Floppy A Disk Power Cable
between connector labeled "System Floppy A Disk" on WriteBack
Controller Card and connector on Internal Floppy Disk Drive.
|
|
|
|
|
15.
|
Plug included Power Extension Cable between
connector labeled "WB Hard Disk & WB Floppy" on WriteBack Controller
Card and connector on included "Y" Power Cable. Plug "Y" Power
Cable into mating connectors on rear panel of WriteBack Enclosure
and WriteBack Floppy Disk Drive.

Plug included WB Switch Cable between connector
labeled "WB Switch Cable" on WriteBack Controller Card and connector
on rear panel of WriteBack Enclosure.

|
|

Install included High Speed UDMA Hard Disk Cable
between Secondary Disk Connector on motherboard using end connector
of this cable and mating connector on rear panel of WriteBack
Enclosure using middle connector of this cable.

|
|
|
|
18.
|
Remove existing Primary Hard Disk Cable. Install
included High Speed UDMA Hard Disk Cable between Primary Disk
Connector on motherboard using end connector of this cable and
mating connector on existing Internal System Hard Disk using
middle connector of this cable. Connect end connector of this
cable to mating connector on Internal CDROM.

Assemble CPU Case Cover; four coarse thread
screws _"

|
Reconnect existing cables to rear panel of CPU
Case such as cables for the keyboard, mouse, network, serial,
parallel, video, sound, speakers, etc.

|
Connect Power Cord to rear panel of CPU Case
then to an AC Wall Outlet.
|
|
|
|
22.
|
Turn on CPU Power Switch. System will startup
normally. Note that lights on WriteBack Enclosure and WriteBack
Floppy Disk Drive will NOT illuminate until the WriteBack Buttons
are activated. See WriteBack
Operating Instructions.
